Parent Resources

Here at Foothill Community Church, we believe that parents have the awesome (and challenging) responsibility of being the primary discipler for their children.  We recognize that it can feel overwhelming at times and we don’t think you should have to do it alone!  We are here to equip your family to grow in relationship with Jesus, the Church, and the world. Here are some resources to help you in your parenting journey.

Parent Resource Wall

If you are a regular Foothill Community Church attender, you may have noticed our Parent Resource wall directly across from the FCC KIDS check-in station. It was strategically designed for you to be able to pick-up resources that are helpful in whatever stage of parenting you find yourself. We routinely change the resource materials, so there’s always something new for you grab. If you haven’t had a chance to look through the Parent Resource wall, make sure you check it out this Sunday!

Family Builders

We are so excited to be hosting two parenting classes this year, which we are calling Family Builders. These classes are meant to help you learn, in a safe space, alongside other parents longing to do their best to help their children grow in relationship with God. We hope you’ll be able to join us on what we’re sure will be a fruitful time together. Childcare will be provided!

Discipling at Home

If you’re looking for more ideas on how to grow as a family in your relationship with God, you can find entry points into a rhythm of family devotions here.

Below you’ll find a number of resources that will help you engage with your kids in a variety of other ways.

Racial Justice and God's Kingdom

We believe that talking with our kids about racial diversity and justice is important. Below are some resources that we hope can be helpful as you begin or continue your conversations at home.

Beyond the Golden Rule

Whether you are the parent of a 3-year-old who is curious about why a friend’s skin is brown, the parent of a 9-year-old who has been called a slur because of his religion, or the parent of a 15-year-old who snubs those outside of her social clique at school, this book is designed to help you teach your children to honor the differences in themselves and in others — and to reject prejudice and intolerance.

Embrace Race Tips

These tips are designed to help parents of all backgrounds talk to and guide their children about race early and often by lifting up age-appropriate activities that can be incorporated easily into your daily life. We hope these tips provide some much needed support for families committed to building tolerance, racial equity, and a social culture where all kids and families can thrive!
