Job Description

The Campus Manager role is a crucial position that takes care of a variety of administrative needs to ensure that our campus continues to operate as a ministry to our tenants, our community, our members, and any visitors who step foot on the campus. They should have a heart for sharing the love of Christ through tangible and intangible ways by maintaining a full-time, welcoming presence in our office. They are also responsible for leading the maintenance and physical operations of the church office and its tenants, as well as the key component of providing administrative assistance to the Lead Pastor.  They act as the go-to point of contact for visitors, tenants, volunteers, and many ministries, and play a primary role in the coordination of campus space usage. They engage all campus visitors, including and especially those experiencing homelessness, with love, compassion, and an eagerness to serve, help, and connect. 

Job Responsibilities

Campus Management

  • Ensure an open and welcoming office environment with established on-campus office hours for the reception of visitors and tenants
  • Act independently as in-person point of communication and coordination for tenants and visitors
  • Work in partnership with the bookkeeping service provider to create relevant financial documents and execute baseline accounting-related tasks
  • Coordinate and manage campus usage calendar for FCC and tenant activities
  • Cultivate relationships with tenants through accessibility, warmth, execution of appreciation events, and more
  • Establish and maintain streamlined and efficient systems and procedures for campus and office care through modern, digital channels
  • Convert paper filing system to secure online database
  • Provide written reports as necessary for local BOA, Southern California Conference, tenants, church attendees, and staff as required, such as board minutes, giving statements, conference reports, records on membership and baptisms, and others
  • Maintain an organized, well-stocked, and functional office space for staff and volunteers
  • Identify campus needs and coordinate necessary repairs and updates to the facility and technical equipment to ensure a well-maintained office and campus
  • Manage church office functions, including coordination and distribution of keys, mail distribution, communications, and more
  • Serve as formal “Custodian of Records” for background checks through DOJ Live Scan on behalf of FCC
  • Manage and respond to office phone and official church email through Google Voice and Gmail
  • Other duties as directed by Lead Pastor

Administrative Assistance to Lead Pastor

  • Assist with correspondences, reports, calendar/scheduling, and other administrative duties
  • Assist in managing ministry and service scheduling through Planning Center Online and more
  • Track and report church attendance, membership, baptisms, etc.
  • Coordinate and assist with Sunday logistics, starting early on Sunday mornings and continuing through the duration of the service
  • Regular and timely data input from forms filled out during Sunday services and other events 
  • Coordinate and assist with special or mid-week events as needed
  • Other duties as directed by Lead Pastor

Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong preference for and/or experience working in ethnically and socioeconomically diverse settings
  • Bilingual English and Spanish a plus
  • Strong administrative skills, attention to detail and follow through on assignments

  • Knowledge of, and/or ability to develop skills in, additional software such as Quickbooks, Planning Center Online, Airtable, WordPress, Mailchimp, and/or other programs as needed
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to interact professionally with a wide variety of personality types 
  • A commitment to confidentiality and discretion regarding all matters
  • Must be a committed Christian who is pursuing spiritual growth
  • Must regularly commit to the practice of Sabbath
  • Active engagement and participation in the life of FCC. 
  • Able to embrace the Free Methodist “Freedoms”, “The Free Methodist Way”, and other aspects of Free Methodist Weslayan Theology.
  • Prior to employment, must satisfactorily complete a criminal record background check 
  • All employment at FCC is strictly at-will, meaning that either party may terminate the relationship by giving the other party written notice of termination
